Beginner Riders Morocco: il tuo primo passo nel turismo equestre

Beginner Riders Morocco: your first step into equestrian tourism

There are moments in life when we feel the need to change pace.
To step outside our usual patterns, to learn something that speaks to the body as much as to the mind.
That’s when the desire to experience something new is born. To challenge ourselves. To discover who we are in a completely different context.

And what if it’s the equestrian world calling you?
A horse to listen to, nature to cross, silence that helps you feel.
Beginner Riders Morocco is designed for those who feel this call for the very first time. An intensive program that guides you from the foundations to your first real trekking experience.
With safety, with respect, with solid groundwork. And with the guidance of people who truly love horses.

Where does it begin?

It begins in Essaouira, with the scent of the ocean and the soft light that shapes each day. It begins with a quiet encounter: you and your first horse, looking into each other’s eyes.

An understanding that grows slowly, built on gestures, breath, and mutual trust.

From that moment on, your journey starts: step by step, you will discover what riding truly means.

The Beginner Riders intensive Equestrian Tourism program lasts 8 days and is designed to guide you into the world of tourist riding. It is not an ordinary course, but a full immersion in the equestrian world: technique, relationship, emotion — outdoors, learning to manage your horse in all kinds of situations.

Each morning, you learn to take care of your horse: grooming, preparing, listening. Then you get in the saddle, and little by little you learn to move together. To breathe at the same rhythm. To communicate without words.
Day by day, you will feel more confident, more centered, more ready.

You are not left alone. Every gesture is guided. Every session is crafted with care.

A journey that transforms you

The program takes place between the Ranch de Diabat and the natural surroundings of Essaouira: dunes, forests, beaches. Each morning and afternoon, a practical session will let you experience riding not as a sport, but as a deep connection between two living beings.

By the end of the program, you will no longer be a beginner. You will have completed the first stretch of your equestrian journey, and you’ll be ready to take on more challenging experiences, such as a mini-trek or an itinerant horseback tour.

Authentic hospitality, like home

During your stay, you will sleep in a traditional riad in the heart of Essaouira’s medina, welcomed by a warm atmosphere and the kindness of the local people. Each day begins with breakfast and opens up to new discoveries: lessons, excursions, and free time to explore the city or relax with a mint tea.

One special Thursday is dedicated to a different activity: a quad excursion through the dunes, offering a new perspective on the landscape and adding a touch of adventure to your week.

Who is this journey for?

For those who are beginners with some basic riding lessons behind them and want to deepen their skills in outdoor riding.
For those who want to learn in a safe and respectful way.
For those seeking a true experience, where an invisible bond with the horse begins to take shape.
For those who dream of riding in the desert one day… and want to begin that path now.

The program runs all year round, from Saturday to Saturday. You are free to choose your dates, letting us know at least one week in advance. Each course can host up to 4 participants: small groups, personalised attention, connections that last.

You don’t need great experience — just the desire to try

We know well what it feels like to take the first step: that mix of excitement and fear, that thought of not being ready enough. But that’s exactly where every great story begins.

Beginner Riders Morocco is not just a course. It’s an invitation to get to know yourself better, to overcome fears, to rediscover the beauty of learning something new with care, respect, and the professionalism of those who have been doing this for many years.

Because the relationship with a horse teaches us so much about ourselves — it helps us handle situations better, teaches us to listen, to trust, to breathe together.

And who knows… maybe in a few months you’ll be the one setting off on your first real trekking adventure.

We’ll be here, waiting for you.

FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions

I’ve never ridden a horse before — can I still join?

The program is designed for riders with a minimum level of experience. If you’ve never ridden before, we recommend taking a few basic riding lessons near your home before starting this journey, so you can arrive with more continuity and confidence.

Where do we stay during the program?

You will stay in a traditional riad in the heart of Essaouira’s medina, in a single or double room with breakfast included. It’s the perfect location to explore the city, enjoy some shopping, and relax after your sessions.

Do I need to bring my own riding equipment?

Yes, we ask you to bring riding pants, appropriate footwear, and half chaps. If you don’t have them, we can recommend where to buy them easily and affordably, even online. The riding helmet will be provided by us.

Can I choose the dates of the course?

Yes, you can join any week of the year from Saturday to Saturday, depending on availability. The program runs year-round, and sessions are adapted to the seasons (for example, during Ramadan, afternoon activities take place before sunset).

How big are the groups?

Each group can include up to 4 participants, but you might also find yourself alone in your chosen week — in that case, you’ll have a dedicated instructor just for you.

In which language is the course taught?

Our instructors speak English and French, with some Italian. They are very communicative, welcoming, and will make you feel comfortable throughout your learning journey.

Is there a weight limit?

Yes. For the well-being of our Arabian-Barb horses, the rider weight limit is 90 kg. Some of our horses can carry slightly more, but for any exception we ask you to contact us so we can discuss the best solution together.

What happens if I feel afraid during the course?

It’s completely normal to feel fear when facing a new and immersive experience. We’ll help you recognise this emotion and move through it. Relating to a horse often means facing things we don’t always have time or courage to address in everyday life. Our instructors will support you with care, choose the right horse for you, and encourage you to grow a little more every day.
