A unique opportunity to experience the magical moment of SUNSET on horseback in Essaouira, on the beach.
Rancho de Diabat is located in the village of Diabat, and has exclusive access to the south beach, surrounded by dunes, a eucalyptus forest, and, looking west, the Atlantic Ocean and its waves. The ruined Poroghese Castle, lapped by the waters at high tide, and Mogador Island, home to an ancient prison, with the mosque's minaret visible from afar.
And with this landscape, riding along this beach, watching the sun set, a unique magic.
Depending on the season, the sky takes on different colors: summer sunsets are mostly clear skies due to the constant wind blowing from the north, while autumn skies are dotted with clouds that reflect the light in different ways every day, almost creating new pictures.
It's hard to choose which one is the most beautiful, but we invite you to send us your photographs and try to choose together.
The exact time of the walk and the appointment will be carefully communicated by the reception based on the actual sunset time, which varies from day to day and from season to season.
We guarantee you'll see the sunset on the beach, and we'll return to the Ranch immediately afterwards to avoid the darkness.
We are not responsible for adverse weather conditions, which do not constitute grounds for cancellation or complaint. (We do everything we can to satisfy you, but we don't yet have superpowers over the weather.) )
Plan
Otherwise, if you have a car, it's easy to reach the Ranch, located 3 km from the city center. When you book the horseback riding package with overnight stay, you'll be sent a map and GPS location by email. You can park in the Ranch's private parking lot.
Upon your arrival at Reception, you will be greeted by our staff who will show you the equestrian safety instructions, and you will be able to fill out the rental contract and meet your instructor who will help you choose the right helmet size.
Recommended attire is long trousers and closed shoes, and the rider's weight must not exceed 90kg to preserve the health of our Berber Arabian horses.
You'll leave the equestrian center on horseback and head towards the beach, riding along the banks of the Kassob River. You'll visit the Palace of Sultan Moulay Abdallah, then continue towards the dunes and the beautiful beach, where you can gallop. You'll admire the Portuguese Castle and get a close-up view of Mogador Island with its mosque and ancient prison.
Prepare yourself as best as possible
- The maximum permitted weight of the rider is 90 kg (The organization reserves the right to deny admission to the trek if anyone who fails to declare their actual weight exceeds the limit, and no refunds will be given. The health of the horses comes first.)
- Equestrian Level: To take part in this excursion it is not necessary to have an equestrian level, even beginners are accepted, but in their case we do not guarantee the possibility of trotting and galloping, which will be examined on a case-by-case basis.
- Clothing: To participate in this horseback excursion, please wear long trousers and closed shoes.

Horse rental, equestrian guides, riding helmets, transportation to and from the city of Essaouira.

BOOKING CONDITIONS
All activities must be paid in advance in order to be confirmed.
BOOKING CONFIRMATION:
The booking will be confirmed upon receipt of the confirmation email sent by our staff or by the booking system, once the balance has been paid.
PAYMENT METHODS:
- Bank transfer to a Moroccan bank (sending proof of payment by email at least 7 days before the activity is mandatory)
- International credit card (Mastercard, Visa, American Express – via PayPal or Factobox)
ON-SITE PAYMENT:
For on-site bookings, for which availability cannot be guaranteed without advance payment, it is possible to pay in cash (Moroccan dirhams).
CANCELLATION CONDITIONS:
Any interruption of the activity requested by the client for any reason requires dedicated assistance, which involves an additional cost.
This cost will be charged on site, communicated at the time, and depends on the location where the client interrupts the activity.
The client agrees to pay this cost.
Please note: weather conditions or illness are not covered by the organizer but by the client’s own travel insurance.
In the event of cancellation by the client, the following penalties will apply:
- More than 30 days before arrival: 30% of the total booking amount will be retained
- Between 29 and 10 days before arrival: 60% of the total booking amount will be retained
- Between 9 and 3 days before arrival: 75% of the total booking amount will be retained
- Less than 48 hours before arrival: 100% of the total booking amount will be retained
CHILDREN CONDITIONS:
Young children also pay the full price, as they will ride on a horse led by a dedicated instructor. Safety vests and riding helmets will be provided. For safety reasons, it is strictly forbidden for a child to ride on the same horse as an adult. Only the instructor may, if necessary, take a small child on the saddle; however, preferably, the instructor will accompany the child on foot, staying alongside them.
