Description
Conditions and price details
You'll spend half a day riding a dromedary, guided by an exceptional instructor; it will be one of the most memorable experiences of your holiday.
You will be able to observe how these docile animals are trained, understanding the ancestral essence of a breed that has crossed deserts for thousands of kilometers, tireless and always at their owner's side.
The saddle we have patented is absolutely comfortable, allowing you to sit comfortably while enjoying a unique landscape.
Starting from the Ranch de Diabat, you will enter the mimosa and eucalyptus forest, then reach the large dunes that stand majestically in front of the ocean. As you descend to the shore, you can observe the freshwater springs gushing from the ground and meet the fishermen who live nearby seasonally.
Heading north, you will pass the beautiful Mogador Island and the Portuguese Castle, then follow the banks of the Qsob River to reach the beautiful Palace of the Black Sultan.
Plan
For those with a car, it will be easy to reach the Ranch de Diabat, located just 3 km from the city center. You will be sent a map and GPS location by email, and you can park with complete peace of mind in the Ranch's private parking lot.
Your guide will explain how to mount the dromedaries, which will be seated and ready to take you on a ride. Using the footrest, you can easily climb onto the comfortable saddle, designed and manufactured by Ranch de Diabat for the maximum comfort of its guests during the ride.
Once you've mounted your dromedary, you'll join the caravan, heading towards the beautiful and lush mimosa and eucalyptus forest, where you can encounter many tortoises and pick eucalyptus berries and leaves to make a decoction and balsamic vapors to use in case of a cold.
The terrain in this forest is sandy and full of ups and downs, sometimes taking you into small valleys and other times up hills that dominate the enchanting view, a true paradise for the eyes.
You will continue towards the dunes and the beautiful beach, where you can experience the thrill of walking in the ocean water from the heights of these majestic animals with their long, dynamic legs.
At low tide, you'll find freshwater springs bubbling up on the shoreline, where semi-free animals come to drink every day and where your dromedary friends can quench their thirst.
Nearby you'll notice some wooden huts, which serve as seasonal homes for local fishermen, who often offer fresh fish at a reasonable price. If you like, you can buy it and grill it that evening.
Continuing north, you can admire the Portuguese Castle and get a close-up view of Mogador Island with its mosque and ancient prison. From here, following the banks of the Qassob River, you will visit the Palace of Sultan Moulay Abdallah, which has been the setting for several films and is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Remember that the dromedary is a peaceful animal. The ride takes place in a caravan, one behind the other. The saddles are comfortable, and it's not necessary to wear a protective helmet. The route passes through interesting historical and naturalistic points and is designed to admire the landscape and nature, learn about the history and some interesting anecdotes, and experience a natural and ethological way of training this gentle animal.
