Note: The Bivouac is only possible with a reservation and passport submission 2 weeks before the activity, as required by the competent authorities of Essaouira

The quad route lasts 2 days and 2 nights (one in a bivouac and one in a hotel), including a party and all meals, from Friday morning to Sunday morning.

Quad trip in Morocco: 2 days of emotions among spectacular landscapes and culinary delights

Let Ranch de Diabat of Essaouira guide you, with its many years of experience, to enhance a beautiful quad tour in the desert.

You can enjoy this quad experience at your own pace, respecting the flora and fauna, reaching breathtaking panoramic points, wild beaches where you will be the only protagonists.

Quad routes and Berber culture: Moroccan flavors and nights in the bivouac

Let yourself be pampered by our chef who will delight you every day with Moroccan specialties, always attentive to your tastes and any food intolerances you inform us of at the time of registration.

Friday night at the Moroccan Bivouac will be a unique experience to live, with Berber tents equipped with mattresses and rugs on the ground, and a tent for the kitchen. The evening bonfire and the animation of bongos and impromptu dances will make the atmosphere unforgettable.

Saturday night party in the medina of Essaouira: Gnawa music and fire shows

Be amazed by the Saturday night party, which, like in a movie, will transport you to a stylish location full of relaxation and good energy. You will not only enjoy excellent traditional Essaouira music: Gnawa music, but also amazing fire breathers who will leave you speechless.

Finally, indulge yourself with the high-quality Organic menu served during the shows, a true delight suitable for adults and children. The last night will be spent in a beautiful Riad near Ranch de Diabat before we say goodbye at the end of this fantastic weekend.

Program

Shuttle and arrival at the Ranch

At your disposal is our free shuttle, which departs from one of the pickup points: Piazza Moulay Hassan, Bab Marrakech, Bab Doukkala, or you can designate another pickup point within the city so that our driver can pick you up and bring you back at the end of the activity.

For those traveling by car, it will be easy to reach Ranch de Diabat, located just 3 km from the city center; a map and GPS coordinates will be sent to you by email, and you can park safely in the Ranch's private parking lot.

Day 1

Upon your arrival at Reception, you will be welcomed by our staff who will explain the safety instructions regarding the quads, and you will be able to complete the rental contract and meet your instructor who will help you choose a helmet in your size.

Recommended clothing includes long pants and closed shoes, and a light jacket to protect against the wind. Your guide will give you a brief driving test to reassure you before departure and to make you feel comfortable, after which you will be ready to start this beautiful quad excursion. Your luggage will follow you by truck, so consider taking a small backpack with the essentials for the day: sunscreen, sunglasses, scarf, and a windproof jacket.

You will follow the Qsob river, where you can photograph the birds that inhabit it, some seasonal migrants and others resident throughout the year. You will arrive at the Castle of Sultan Moulay Ben Abdallah, included in the UNESCO heritage, where your guide can provide you with various interesting historical explanations.

Once you arrive at the immense 27-kilometer beach, you can approach the ruins of the Portuguese Castle, built by the Phoenicians to spot ships arriving from the sea, from which you can also observe Mogador Island with its still intact prison and the mosque’s minaret, where the Eleonora’s falcon breeds and is at home. You will encounter the dunes of Omar, and not far away a small seasonal fishing village, as well as special freshwater springs flowing from the sand at low tide, the magic of nature.

You will arrive at the huge dunes of Cap Sim, with its white lighthouse guiding ships to the port of Essaouira, and in front, the vast Ocean. You can have fun going up and down, always paying close attention to follow the tracks of your accompanying guide, who knows the route perfectly. You will reach an exceptional panoramic point called the Cave, where there is a small natural shelter adapted to welcome those who want to stop for a Moroccan mint tea, all with a breathtaking ocean view.

Not far away is the village of Ouessen, an incredible panoramic point overlooking the bay of Sidi Kaouky, where you will slowly descend through some small vegetation until you reach the spot where you can enjoy your lunch. The meal will be organized by our staff for a private lunch break on the beach; the menu can be seafood or land-based depending on the season and will also be agreed upon according to any food allergies or preferences of the participants.

After lunch, you will cross the village of Sidi Kaouky by quad, known for water sports such as kitesurfing, windsurfing, and surfing. From here, you will cross a wild beach and reach the designated spot to spend the night, with a sea view and an unmissable sunset.

Arrival at the bivouac is scheduled for 4 p.m., and depending on the season, you will have time to relax on the beach, swim while being careful of the ocean currents, then return to the bivouac located on the cliff just a two-minute walk from the beach, take a warm shower, and settle into your Berber tent that the staff has prepared especially for you, with rugs, floor mattresses, cushions, and blankets.

The cook will be preparing dinner at the moment, typical Moroccan cuisine that will take into account any food allergies or particular tastes communicated beforehand. Once dinner is served, a nice bonfire and bongos will enliven the evening, while watching the sky, either starry or moonlit. Without any light sources nearby, it will be even more magical.

Day 2

In the morning, a hearty breakfast before setting off for a second day of incredible emotions. After finishing preparations and securing the backpack with the essentials for this last wonderful day on the quad bike (your luggage will be waiting for you at Ranch de Diabat, transported by truck), a new departure heading south.

You will travel along the beautiful, long, and unspoiled south beach of Sidi Kaouky, bordered by dunes on the left and high ocean waves on the right, with low shrubs visible behind the dunes. You will reach the small waterfalls of Sidi Mbarek, where a photo stop is a must. Depending on the season, the waterfalls may have more or less water, which flows to the estuary on the ocean in a very evocative small valley, surrounded by a mountain that opens in a V shape over the stream, with gray rocks and small shrubs along the entire valley.

The walk from the waterfalls to the estuary is short but very evocative; at one point you will also find a wall completely covered with sand, where children often play by rolling down it. It is common to meet shepherds with their sheep or children living nearby. In front of the waterfalls, looking up, you can walk to the white Marabou, a sacred place where people used to pray, bringing offerings in the hope that their prayers would be answered.

Setting off again, you will ride the quad bikes up the hill until you reach the cliff that will lead you into a forest of Argan trees, which make the region one of the most famous for Argan oil production. You will return to the cliffs with a beautiful view of the ocean from above, and with countless small deserted beaches where you will want to camp and stay. You will arrive at Iftane beach, small and enchanting: it will be like a vision, a couple of fishermen's huts are nestled in the mountain rocks that drop steeply, and some fishermen cast their nets or launch their small boats for a day of fishing.

A short relaxing stop where you can have lunch immersed in wild and unspoiled nature, and maybe take a swim while being careful of ocean currents. Lunch will be prepared by our cooks in the morning and you will carry it with you inside the large quad saddlebags; your guide will set up a shelter, laying the tablecloth and setting the table. The menu is always different and typical, taking into account your tastes and any food intolerances you may inform us of at the time of booking.

You will get back on the quads to climb the steep cliff and greet this breathtaking panorama. You will have to cross the Argan forest again to reach the track that will lead you to the Sidi Mbarek souk, and from there reach Sidi Kaouky and Ouessen. Heading north again, you will cross the wind farm to the large dunes of Cap Sim and, once crossed, you will enter the eucalyptus forest through a small white track that will take you past the fishing village and bring you to the beach of southern Essaouira.

You will pass near the Sultan's Palace, then return to Ranch de Diabat where you will leave the quads to rest on the terrace and enjoy a well-deserved tea, dried fruit, and popcorn. You can wash up and freshen up at the Ranch in the restrooms and relax on the terrace and the dam lawn next to the horse stables, awaiting the evening surprise.

Private dinner with Gnawa music and jugglers

You will have the entire Ranch privatized at your disposal, in the courtyard in front of the horse stables, for this wonderful private party with entertainment and excellent organic cuisine.

The decorations, red carpets, poufs, low copper and wooden tables, candelabras, straw bales, soft lighting, braziers with burning wood, and a beautifully set table just for you exclusively.

During the evening, fire-breathing groups will alternate with acrobatics and fire magic shows and The Gnawa musicians group, who will take you to explore an ancient and sensory music, with their silver castanets, the cap with pom pom, and dancing acrobatics.
