3-Day Morocco Tour: Discover the Desert and the Medina of Essaouira!
Choosing what to do and see in Morocco when you have only a few days available is certainly not easy.
But with this 3-day tour, you can live an unforgettable experience. You can choose to stay at the beautiful and typical Riad Zahra, the welcoming Vent des Dunes, or Riad Le Khan Mogador. Three different locations offering hospitality worthy of this country.
Once refreshed in your rooms, we will begin our wonderful Morocco tour with a suggestive horseback ride at sunset along the beach.
Quad ride among desert dunes and dromedary walks along the Kassob River
The next day is dedicated to the thrill of a quad tour in the desert across its vast dunes, a unique and adrenaline-filled experience. To complete the Essaouira tour, we invite you to a morning dromedary ride, a perfect opportunity to explore the area's historical and natural sites and to observe migratory birds stopping along the Kassob River. This dromedary ride will offer you a unique view of Morocco’s wildlife and its characteristic landscapes.
To conclude this Morocco holiday beautifully, we have planned a delicious dinner celebrating the “bel paese” in a typical restaurant with a 100% Italian menu, located in the alleys of Essaouira’s medina. The chef, Italian by birth, Maurizio from La Taverna Bolognese, awaits you!
Program
Day 1: Arrival
You will start your weekend by arriving in Essaouira and first stop at Riad Zahra, Vent Des Dunes, or Riad Le Khan Mogador where you will be warmly welcomed. Two and a half hours before sunset, meet at the Ranch (located 5 minutes from the Riad) for the first of these exciting experiences: today you will ride horses on the beach at sunset!
A brief preparation and then a two-hour horseback ride along the beach; beginners will have a half-hour saddle-up session in the riding arena before the outing. It will be a breathtaking ride full of memorable photos.
Day 2: Discovering Essaouira
A nice breakfast to start this day dedicated to visiting Essaouira, its UNESCO World Heritage Medina, the fish market at the port with boats arriving from the ocean followed by seagulls, and a seafood lunch in the main square where several stalls offer fresh catch of the day at affordable prices.
A visit to the Skala and its bastions equipped with ancient Portuguese cannons, offering a superb view of the ocean. Finally, wander through the alleys of Essaouira’s Medina to find yourself enjoying tea at Mandala, a small café-restaurant offering organic delights and homemade cakes daily. But the day is not over, and the excitement continues!
Two and a half hours before sunset, meet at the Ranch for another adventure that will take you to the magnificent dunes of Cap Sim, today by quad. Instructions and preparation, then departure through the eucalyptus forest to reach the fun ups and downs of the high dunes, which take on magnificent colors as the sun sets.
This evening, an unmissable dinner celebrating "Made in Italy": you will be guests at Maurizio’s Taverna Bolognese, who moved from Italy to live in Essaouira and will delight you with his specialties. On the menu: Bolognese Lasagna and Tiramisu; for children, a menu suitable for all ages, and for vegetarians or those with allergies, dishes adapted to their needs.
Day 3: Departure
After breakfast, get ready to experience the last exciting activity today on dromedary back. Starting from the Ranch, following the banks of the Kassob River, we can hide behind bushes to observe and photograph migratory birds, which Mustapha will explain to us. But the explanations don’t end here; along the route, we will find several medicinal plants that we can observe and learn about their benefits, which our dear Mustapha will share with us.
To conclude this beautiful adventure, we will approach some historical and cultural sites, World Heritage and under UNESCO protection, whose history will be explained to you. Additionally, Mustapha will share his ethological training of our dromedaries, which respond to vocal commands and gestures and are well treated and gently trained.
We recommend lunch at the nearby Ocean Vagabond before heading back home, full of wonderful experiences and memorable photos.

Information for families with children
This program has been designed not only for adults but especially adapted for families with children of all ages.
Costs are adjusted for the age groups 0-4 years and 5-8 years.
The horseback ride is suitable for all ages and is managed with maximum safety with additional accompanying staff; the quad excursion is also adjusted according to participants’ ages and strictly follows safety rules.
The dromedary ride and the historical and wildlife explanations are also suitable for children.
Essaouira is a city suitable for families with young children; strollers are accessible everywhere, and the recommended places in this program are "baby friendly."

Activity can be booked starting from one person, up to a maximum of 10 people.

BOOKING CONDITIONS:
All activities must be paid in advance in order to be confirmed.
PAYMENT METHODS:
- Bank transfer to a Moroccan bank (sending proof of payment by email at least 7 days before the activity is mandatory)
- International credit card (Mastercard, Visa, American Express – via Stripe)
ON-SITE PAYMENT:
For on-site bookings, for which availability cannot be guaranteed without advance payment, it is possible to pay in cash (Moroccan dirhams).
CANCELLATION CONDITIONS:
Any interruption of the activity requested by the client for any reason requires dedicated assistance, which involves an additional cost. This cost will be charged on site, communicated at the time, and depends on the location where the client interrupts the activity.
The client agrees to pay this cost.
Please note: weather conditions or illness are not covered by the organizer but by the client’s own travel insurance.
In the event of cancellation by the client, the following penalties will apply:
- More than 30 days before arrival: 30% of the total booking amount will be retained
- Between 29 and 10 days before arrival: 60% of the total booking amount will be retained
- Between 9 and 3 days before arrival: 75% of the total booking amount will be retained
- Less than 48 hours before arrival: 100% of the total booking amount will be retained
CHILDREN CONDITIONS – HORSE:
Young children also pay the full price, as they will ride on a horse led by a dedicated instructor. Safety vests and riding helmets will be provided.
For safety reasons, it is strictly forbidden for a child to ride on the same horse as an adult. Only the instructor may, if necessary, take a small child on the saddle; however, preferably, the instructor will accompany the child on foot, staying alongside them.
CHILDREN CONDITIONS – QUAD:
Children from 0 to 4 years old are free of charge and share the quad with a responsible adult.
Children between 5 and 8 years old pay half price and share the quad with a responsible adult.
Children between 9 and 15 years old pay the full price and share the quad with a responsible adult.
CHILDREN CONDITIONS – CAMEL:
0–4 years old: free of charge (sharing the camel with parents).
5–8 years old: half price if sharing the camel, full price if riding alone.
From 9 years old: full price whether riding alone or sharing the camel.
CHILDREN CONDITIONS – HOTEL:
0–4 years old: free of charge with extra bed.
5–8 years old: 1/3 of the room cost with extra bed.
CHILDREN CONDITIONS – RESTAURANT:
0–4 years old: free of charge, eat with parents.
5–8 years old: dedicated children’s menu at half price.
